Phaidon Patrikalakis (1935-2017) was born in Drama on 8.9.1935. He studied at the Bacalos School and in Paris, at the Academie Julian, the Academie du Feu and the Ecole de Dessin Applique a la Mode Historique. Since 1960, his works have been presented in individual and collective exhibitions in Greece and abroad. At the same time, he also dealt with scenography-costume design. His first job was the sets for Blood Wedding at the “Alliance Francaise” (1960) in Paris. There he worked from 1961 to 1964 collaborating with the “Theater de poche”. In London he connected with Beckett but their collaboration did not materialize, instead he made sets and costumes for the theater “Old Witch”.

Upon his return to Greece, he worked with the “Art Theater” of Karolos Koun (1967-1973), the K.Θ.BE (1970), the “Stoa Theater” (1971), the Karezi-Kazakou Theater (1973-1974 ) participating in the emblematic “Our Big Circus”, the “Open Theater” (1975), the Thessalian Regional Theater, etc. while until the last years he made sets and costumes at the Karezi Theatre.

He had to his credit 34 books on painting, music, scenography, theater, poetry, novels and travel experiences.
He passed away on November 13, 2017.
