Schedia magazine which is an independent magazine sold on the streets of Athens and Thessaloniki, provides a small opportunity for the homeless, unemployed and people living below the poverty line to secure a decent income.
In the New project “Art Design”, inequalities and social exclusion are approached through environmental sensitivity.
The old unsold issues of the street magazine “Design” are reused, redesigned and transformed into high aesthetic and quality products for everyday use, for the home or office, for events or even for the decoration of spaces and for a gift.
Her lab “ Design “ is a unique experience for those who love art, ecology and want to learn how paper materials can be transformed and reused forming designer lamps, beautiful baskets and fruit bowls, wall clocks and frames, colorful earrings, necklaces and rings, which they were made from the illustrated pages of the magazine’s unused issues.
The aim of the program is to create opportunities for activation, empowerment, further education and training while simultaneously creating employment prospects for our fellow citizens who are homeless and live below the poverty line and who experience social exclusion in extreme forms.
