Dimitris Koukos is a painter, who in every effort seeks to redefine between the aesthetic experience and the poetic interpretation of the world. His painting could be narrowly considered topography and even abstract or lyrical. In essence, it is a trace, a record, not of physical image or visual aesthetics, but of physical energy and visual revelation. Morphoplastic microcosms explode in his paintings, while his broad touch builds the forms with a musical feeling. In Kouko’s world there is no darkness or shadow. only light. Light is hypothesized into color and undertakes to create the world of images, the universe of forms.
