Achilleas Droungas was born in 1940 in Piraeus. He studied Engraving and Scenography at the Athens School of Fine Arts from 1958 to 1965. In 1970 he continued his studies at the Slade school of Friée Art in London with a State Scholarship. As an engraver he took part in the most important international exhibitions from 1967-1976.

His works have been published by: Christie’s Contemporary Art-London, Editions Alecto-London, International Graphic Art Society-New York, Redferri gallery-London. His engravings are in the Museum of Modern Art-New York, Victoria and Albert Museum-London, National Museum of Wales, Bibliotheque Nationale-Paris and other public and private collections in Europe and the USA. He has twice received a Ford Foundation scholarship. In 1974 he began to deal exclusively with painting. Since then he has exhibited painting in various Galleries in Europe and America. In 1982 he painted a 45 meter Mural for the Atheneum Intercontinental Hotel in Athens.

His works can be found in Greece in the National Gallery of Athens, the Vorre Museum, the Pieridis Gallery and in public and private collections around the world.

• Silkscreen is the exact reproduction of limited copies of an original work.
• For reproduction, a grid of silk stretched over a frame is used, hence the term Silkscreen, and as many frames are used as the colors of the work.
• The papers used for reproduction are cotton handmade 280-300gr type Fabriano.
• After the end of the reproduction, the crates are destroyed by the painter to ensure the collectability of the work.
• The Silkscreens are signed and numbered in pencil by the artist (numbering on the left and signature on the right) and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
