George Stathopoulos is a Greek contemporary painter. He studied painting and sculpture (1966-1971) having as teachers the famous Giannis Moralis, Nikos Nikolaou, Giannis Pappas and Dimitris Kalamaras. He also studied scenography and illustration.
In painting he was influenced by the ancient Greek aesthetics and from modern streams. These allowed him to form a personal style. Natural or imaginary landscapes, depictions of animals and birds but mainly naked human figures who predominate. The obvious projection of sensuality that results from the lazy posture of the female body, as well as allegorical compositions formed his subject matter.

Engraving is an art form in which the creator carves a design on a surface. This surface is then covered with ink and pressed onto paper. This way, the same design can be printed multiple times.
Today, the term engraving usually refers to the engraving of designs and symbols on a surface. This surface will then serve as a plate for making paper copies. The work (copy on paper or other medium) created in this way is called engraving.
